Caution urged on roads as Canadian Arctic blast hits Derry
Motorists in Derry are being advised to show extra caution on the roads after an overnight snowfall.
A mixture of snow, hail, sleet and gales - gusting up to 70mph tonight - are predicted to continue throughout the day as an Arctic blast from Canada passes through the region.
Many roads, especially those that have not been salted, are in a treacherous condition.
Conditions on Glenshane Pass on the main Derry to Belfast road and the mountain road between Limavady and Coleraine are causing lengthy tailbacks.
