Closure of some recycling centres across Derry and Tyrone closed due to weather conditions

Derry City and Strabane District Council have announced that some recycling centres are closed due to the weather conditions.

The council took to social media to make the public aware that the conditions are impacting the centres, with closures at Claudy, Park, Plumbridge, Donemana and Newtownstewart.

The post said: “Please be advised that the current weather conditions are affecting some recycling centres this morning.

“The centres at Claudy, Park, Plumbridge, Donemana and Newtownstewart are currently closed. Attendants are working to clear ice and snow to allow them to open.

“Refuse collections are taking place as normal, but please be patient as some of the collections are running later than normal.

“Thanks for your co-operation.”
