Coiste Forbartha Charn Tóchair announced as winners of Comórtas Náisiúnta Ghlór na nGael

The Slaughtneil group are the first committee to win the competition four times since Ennis in 2002, and the first from County Derry
Coiste Forbartha Charn Tóchair had a historic win today (Thursday) when they were announced as the winners of the Glór na nGael national competition on a special edition of Barrscéalta on RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta.
This is the fourth time that the South Derry-based committee has won the competition, a feat only matched by one other group, Ennis, who won their fourth Cómortas Náisiúnta in 2002.
Coiste Forbartha Charn Tóchair were founded in the Sleacht Néill area in 1992, and they have gone from strength to strength since in developing the area, and promoting Irish within the community.
Bhain an coiste an Cómortas Náisiúnta don chéad úr sa bhliain 2010, agus arís sna blianta 2014 agus 2020. Glacann siad an trófaí i mbliana ó Comharchumann Forbartha Chorca Dhuibhne a bhuaigh an Comórtas anuraidh, agus faigheann an coiste duais €15,000.
The committee first won the competition in 2010, with wins following in 2014 and 2020. They take the trophy from Comharchumann Forbartha Chorca Dhuibhne who won last year's Comórtas Náisiúnta, and they also take home a prize of €15,000
