CRASH UPDATE: Nurse airlifted to hospital in 'very serious' condition

A woman airlifted from this morning’s three-vehicle crash on the main Derry to Belfast road is in a “very serious” condition in hospital.
The woman, understood to be a nurse, was one of a number of people injured in the collision, involving two vans and car, which occurred on Glenshane Pass close to the Ponderosa bar and restaurant.
The road remains closed as police continue a detailed examination of the scene.
Earlier today, the Western Health and Social Care Trust appealed to members of the public to attend the Accident and Emergency Department at Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry only if necessary as it began to receive casualties from the collision.
