Emma McDaid (39) of St. Eithne's Park in Derry was arrested following reports of a disturbance on August 17

A woman who said she was high on crack cocaine has appeared at Derry Magistrates Court charged with criminal damage, making threats to kill, threatening to damage property and endanger life, assaulting police and disorderly behavior.

Emma McDaid (39) of St. Eithne's Park in Derry was arrested following reports of a disturbance on August 17.

The court heard that police attended St. Eithne's Park and found McDaid shouting threats and throwing stones at the window of a woman inside her own home.

She had allegedly also damaged a summer seat and the car of another man.

While being taken into police custody, McDaid, who a solicitor said had told police she was high on crack cocaine, continued to make threats, telling police she would kill the woman in the house, telling them to get it in writing and saying that she would continue to take drugs.

McDaid was also said to have attempted to headbutt a police officer.

Police objected to bail as McDaid lives close to the victims and they believe she has a high risk of reoffending.

Defense solicitor Seamus Quigley said that McDaid had a 'very limited record', telling the court that she couldn't remember the incident in question due to the drugs she had consumed.

Bail was denied and she was remanded in custody and will appear again on September 9.
