Obituaries
The following deaths have occurred:-
William Brennan, 10 Dunhugh Park, Derry
The death has taken place of William Brennan, 9th April 2023, (peacefully) at home, 10 Dunhugh Park, Derry, beloved husband of Eileen, loving father of Pauline, Siobhán and Bobby, much loved grandfather of Niamh, Turlough, Cathal, Aislinn, Eimear, Ferdia, Sheena and Lúsaí, and dear brother of Joan and the late Robert and Margaret. His remains will be reposing in his home from 11.00am on Friday. Funeral from there on Saturday at 9.25am for 10o’clock Requiem Mass in St. Columb’s Church, Chapel Road. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers, if wished, to the Foyle Hospice, 61 Culmore Road, Derry, BT48 8JE. Our Lady Queen of Peace, pray for him.
Thomas Gérald (Gerry) Clarke, Derry
The death has occurred of Thomas Gérald (Gerry) Clarke, 25th December 2022, in Bradford Royal Infirmary, England, loving father of Gerry and Ursula, devoted grandfather of Ciaran, Charlotte and Becky, dear son of the late James and Molly (formerly of Foyle Road), loving twin brother of Mickey and brother of the late Bridie, Willy, Alex, James, Eamon, Lilia, Joe, Tony and Kathleen. Gerry’s ashes will return home this weekend. A celebration of Gerry’s life will be held in the Longtower Chapel on Saturday, 15th April at 10.00am. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. All welcome. Sadly missed by his twin brother and the entire family circle.
Evelyn Curran (née Myles), 5 Bleach Green, Dungiven
We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of Evelyn Curran (née Myles), (peacefully) surrounded by her loving family on 13th April 2023. May she rest in peace. Late of 5 Bleach Green, Dungiven, Co Derry. Beloved wife of Manus and loving mother of Sharon and the late Catherine R.I.P. Daughter of the late Willie and Cassie and dear sister of Liam, Noel, Anne, Martin, John, Bernadette, Dympna and the late Gerard R.I.P. Deeply regretted by her nieces and nephews and the entire family circle. Reposing at her late home. Wake will commence at 12noon on Friday (14th). Family time 10.00pm to 11.00am. Funeral on Sunday, 16th April leaving her late home at 11.10am for 11.30am. Requiem Mass in Saint Patrick’s Church, Dungiven. Interment immediately afterwards in the adjoining graveyard. Patricia McCallion (née Ward), 52 College Glen, Derry
The death has taken place of Patricia McCallion (née Ward), 13th April 2023, (peacefully) at Altnagelvin Hospital, (formerly of 1 Oakfield Road), beloved wife of the late Seamus, loving mother of Manus, Siobhan, Martin, Roisin, Oonagh and Vanessa, dear mother-in-law of Brenda, John, Vincent and Michael, a devoted grandmother and a dear and loving sister of Josephine (USA), Bernie, Margey, Marie, John, Brian, Gerald, Martin, Veronica and Angela. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the entire family circle. Funeral leaving her home, 52 College Glen, on Saturday, 15th April at 9.20am to St. Eugene’s Cathedral for Requiem Mass at 10.00am. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Our Lady of Knock pray for her.
Patsy McColgan, 3 Hall Lane, Ardmore
The death has taken place of Patsy McColgan, 13th April 2023, (peacefully) at home, beloved husband of Pat, 3 Hall Lane, Ardmore, loving father of Mark, Julie, Liam and Sonya, father-in-law of Margaret and Naomi, a devoted grandfather and great-grandfather, dear brother of John, Anne, Marie, Martin, Joseph, Desmond, Paul, Jim, Donna and the late Liam and Kathleen and a much loved uncle. Funeral from his home on Saturday at 12.25pm for 1o’clock Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Ardmore. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. The Mass can be viewed live via the church webcam. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul.
Stephen McKeever, 13 Ballycanice Close, Eglinton
We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of Stephen McKeever on 12th April 2023, may he rest in peace. Late of 13 Ballycanice Close, Eglinton. Loving father of Conor and Shea. Beloved son of the late Patsy and Annie R.I.P and loving brother of Elizabeth, Clare, Christopher, Patrick, Sharon and Adrian . Deeply regretted by the entire family circle. Stephen will be reposing at the family home, 7 St Canice’s Park, Eglinton, Co Derry from 2.00pm on Friday, 14th April. Leaving the family home on Saturday, 15th April at 5.40pm to repose at Star of the Sea Church, Faughanvale. Requiem Mass will take place on Sunday, 16th April at 12noon followed by interment afterwards in the adjoining graveyard. Our Lady of Knock pray for him.
Norman Robert Ross, 1 Killylagh Park Swatragh
The death has taken place of Norman Robert Ross, 13th April 2023, (peacefully) at Causeway Hospital, late of 1 Killylagh Park. Beloved husband of Annie, dear father of Gerard, Clare, Margaret Anne, Lucy, Veronica, Vincent, Norman James. Dearly beloved grandfather. Dear brother of Gerry, the late James and Margaret. House strictly private please. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul.
