The following deaths have occurred:-
Seamus (Bacon) Coll, Derry
The death has occurred of Seamus (Bacon) Coll, 23rd August 2023, (peacefully) at Altnagelvin Hospital. Loving Father of Gemma, Bronagh and Abbie. Dear Grandfather of Eve, Caiden, Callum, Isla, Odhrán and the late Lily-Rose. Beloved Son of the late Tony and Frances. Dear Brother of Danny, Eamon (Ham), Paula, Kathleen and the late Thomas, Sheila, Tony and Baby Shaun. Funeral from his sister Kathleen's home, 27 Oakbridge Park on Saturday, 26th August at 9.20am to Saint Mary's Church, Creggan for Requiem Mass at 10.00am. Interment immediately afterwards in the City Cemetery. Sacred Heart of Jesus have Mercy on his soul.
James (Jim) McCallion, 7 Dunaff Gardens, Derry
The death has taken place of James (Jim) McCallion, 23rd. August 2023, (peacefully) at Altnagelvin Hospital, beloved husband of the late Margaret, loving father of Marie-Therese, Shauna and Niall, dear father-in-law to David, Paul and Fiona, devoted grandfather of Eoghan, Rachel, Cormac, Niamh and Emma and great-grandfather of Fionn-James and Anna-Jane. Sadly missed by his brothers, sisters and the wider family circle. Jim will be reposing at his home, 7 Dunaff Gardens. Funeral leaving his home on Friday, 25th August at 9.30am to St. Mary’s Church, Creggan for Requiem Mass at 10.00am. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Louise Nash, Derry
The death has taken place of Louise Nash, 22nd August 2023, (peacefully) at Altnagelvin Hospital. Beloved Mother of Alex and the late Sophia. Loving Grandmother of Shea McDaid. Beloved Daughter of Kathleen and the late Neil. Dear sister of Sadie, Teresa, Pat, Debbie, Sophia, Noel, Tony and the late Neil. Service on Friday, 25th August in the Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Letterkenny followed by private cremation.
Joseph (Columba) Norris, 114 Elmgrove, Derry
We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of Joseph (Columba) Norris, (peacefully) at his home, surrounded by his loving family on 23rd August 2023. Late of 114 Elmgrove. May he rest in peace. Beloved son of the late Sarah and Robert. Cherished guardian brother of Louisa and the late John and Ella. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of his wider family circle, friends and neighbours. Joe’s remains will be reposing at his late home. Funeral leaving from there on Saturday, 26th August at 10.20am for 11.00am Requiem Mass in St. Brigid’s Church, Carnhill. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in the City Cemetery. Margaret Plews, 10 Old School Field, Drumahoe, Derry
The death has taken place of Margaret Plews, 23rd August 2023, (peacefully) at Altnagelvin Hospital (surrounded by her loving family formerly of 10 Old School Field, Drumahoe) dearly beloved wife of Albert, much loved mother of Maureen and Jarvis, adored grandmother and great-grandmother, a dear sister-in-law of Trevor and Jarvis. Service of Thanksgiving for her life in D. & R. Hay & Sons, Funeral Home 24A, Church Road, Altnagelvin, Derry BT47 3QQ on Saturday, 26th August at 12.00noon followed by burial in Ballyoan Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in lieu if desired to Chest, Heart & Stroke c/o Mrs Ruth Hay, Funeral Director (address as above). Everyone is welcome to call at the Funeral Home on Friday, 25th August from 11.00am until 2.00pm evening from 6.00pm until 8.00pm.
