The following deaths have occurred:-
Anna Rebecca (Ann) Blair (née Morrow), 11 Cairn Gardens, Coleraine
The death has occurred of Anna Rebecca (Ann) Blair (née Morrow), 1st July 2023, (peacefully) after a short illness at hospital, 11 Cairn Gardens, Coleraine. Dearly loved wife of John much loved mother of Zara, Suzy and the late Jonathan (Jonny). Dear mother-in-law of Andy, David and Judy and devoted nana of Jack, Maisie, Jonathan, Max, Ella and Evie. Service of thanksgiving in Kildollagh Parish Church on Tuesday at 2.00pm followed by interment in the adjoining churchyard. Family and friends welcome at her home on Monday from 2.30pm to 6.30pm. Deeply regretted and very sadly missed by her loving family and entire family circle.
Owney McDaid, Tyrconnell Park, Derry
The death has taken place of Owney McDaid, 1st July 2023, (peacefully) at Altnagelvin Hospital, (late of Owen Mor Care Home and formerly of Donal Casey Court and Tyrconnell Street), beloved husband of the late Betty, loving father of Edward, Kathleen and Owen, devoted grandfather of Jack, Hannah, Noah and Ted and a dear and loving brother of Kevin, Bridie and the deceased members of the McDaid family. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the wider family circle. Funeral leaving Bradley & McLaughlin’s Funeral Home, 31 William Street, at 5.30pm on Monday, 3rd July to St. Columba’s Church, Longtower for Requiem Mass at 10 00am on Tuesday, followed by cremation at Lakelands Crematorium, Co. Cavan at 2.00pm. Viewing at Bradley & McLaughlin’s Funeral Home on Monday, 3rd July from 3.00pm until 5.30pm. Family flowers only please. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul. Eileen McGowan (née Ross), 23 Lislane Drive, Derry
The death has occurred of Eileen McGowan (née Ross), 2nd July 2023, (peacefully) at Altnagelvin Hospital, beloved wife of the late Philip, loving mother of Sean, Mark and Kristian, a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother, dear and loving sister of Billy, Una and the late Lexie, Paddy and James, dear mother-in-law to Sharon, Briege and Michelle. Funeral leaving her home, 23 Lislane Drive, on Tuesday, 4th July at 11.20am to St. Mary’s Church, Creggan for Requiem Mass at 12:00noon. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Sacred Heart Of Jesus have mercy on her soul. Our Lady Of Lourdes intercede for her.
Rachel (Connie) Martyr (née McCartney), Derry
We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of Rachel (Connie) Martyr (née McCartney), peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital on 1st July 2023. May she rest in peace. Beloved wife of the late Peter. Devoted mother of John, Mary, Sarah and the late Alice. Loving grandmother and great-grandmother to all of her grandchildren. A much loved sister of Jackie, Patsy, Kay and Billy. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of her wider family circle, friends and neighbours. Connie’s remains will be reposing at her sister Patsy's residence, 95 Strabane Old Road. Funeral leaving from there on Tuesday 4th July at 9.15am for 10.00am Requiem Mass in St. Eugene’s Cathedral. Mona Quinn (née Murphy), 2 William Street, Maghera
The death has taken place of Mona Quinn (née Murphy), 1st July 2023, beloved wife of Frank, and loving mother of Danny and John mother in law of Denise and the late Catherine. Funeral from her home, 2 William Street, on Tuesday, 4th July at 10.30am for 11.00am Requiem Mass in Church of St. Mary Bellaghy via webcam @ Webcam – Bellaghy-Ballyscullion Parish (bellaghyparish.com) (bellaghyparish.com), interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on her soul. Deeply regretted by her sorrowing husband, sons, daughter in law, grandchildren Amy, Conor, Dara, Tom and Aoife, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces and extended family circle. Robert Alan Thompson, 1 Cottage Row, Eglinton
The death has taken place of Robert Alan Thompson, 2nd July 2023, (peacefully) at the Foyle Hospice, (formerly of 1 Cottage Row, Eglinton). Dearly beloved son of the late Wilson and Bella, a loving brother of Norman and Dougie, dear brother in law of Edwena and much loved uncle of Samantha, Sandra, Stephen and the late Darrell. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, 5th July at 12noon in Faughanvale Presbyterian Church followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
