The following deaths have occurred:-
Cathy Craig (née O’Connor), 1 Mountainview Park, Dungiven
We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of Cathy Craig (née O’Connor), (peacefully) at her home surrounded by her loving family on 30th January 2023, late of 1 Mountainview Park, Dungiven. Beloved wife of Declan and loving mother of Leanne (Mullin) and Conor. Fond mother in law of Michael and devoted grandmother of Séan, Méabh and Aoife. Loving daughter of the late Bernie and Josie R.I.P and dear sister of Martin, Etta, Paula, Cornelius and Joseph. Deeply regretted by her sisters and brothers in law, nieces and nephews and the entire family circle. Reposing at her late home. The wake at the family home is for family only. Funeral on Thursday, 2nd February leaving her late home at 11.20am for 12noon Requiem Mass in Saint Patrick’s Church Dungiven. Interment immediately afterwards in the adjoining graveyard. Our Lady queen of heaven pray for her.
Martin Doherty, 345 Carnhill, Derry
The death has taken place of Martin Doherty, 29th January 2023, beloved son of Pat and Majella, loving brother of Annemarie, Angeline, Geraldine and the late Patrick, brother-in-law of Jonathan, Fred and JP and much loved uncle of Emily, Gareth, Darrina, Shannon, Saoirse and Nicole. Funeral from the family home, 345 Carnhill on Thursday at 12.30pm for 1o’clock Requiem Mass in St Brigid’s Church, Carnhill. Interment afterwards in the City cemetery. Family time please from 10.00pm to 11.00am. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul.
Deirdre Sandra Donnell, 2 Creevagh Park, Derry
The death has taken place of Deirdre Sandra Donnell, 31st January 2023, (peacefully) at home, 2 Creevagh Park, beloved wife of Andy, loving mother of Andrew and Andrea, mother in law of Vahid and Catherine and a devoted grandmother of Sina. Funeral leaving her home at 12.30 pm on Friday, 3rd February for a 1.00pm service in Carrigans Parish Church, followed by burial in the adjoining churchyard. Deeply regretted by her loving family circle. The Lord is my Shepherd.
Sylvia Joan JONES (née Armstrong), 21 Ebrington Oaks, Waterside, Derry
Sylvia Joan JONES (née Armstrong), 31st January 2023, (peacefully) at Edenvale Nursing Home, Limavady (surrounded by her loving family formerly of 21 Ebrington Oaks, Waterside) much loved wife of Graham, devoted mum of Darren and Stephen, adored nanny of Caitlyn, Charlotte, Luke, Jarvis, Milo, loving sister of Robert, Jim, Nell, Jackie, Edith, Keith and the late Ann and Eddie. Service of Thanksgiving in D & R Hay & Sons, Funeral Home, 24A, Church Road, Altnagelvin, Derry BT47 3QQ on Friday 3rd February, at 11.00am followed by Cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan. Everyone is welcome to call at the Funeral Home and pay their respects to Sylvia on Thursday from 2.00pm until 4.00pm and in evening from 6.00pm until 8.00pm. Family flowers only, donations if desired to Dementia N.I. c/o Mrs Ruth Hay, Funeral Director (above address). No BLACK clothing to be worn by request. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by her entire family circle. Peace-fully sleeping free from all pain, we wouldn't awake you to suffer again.

We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of Declan McDowell, (peacefully) at his home, surrounded by all of his loving family on 31st January 2023, late of 13 Lindenwood Park, Foyle Springs. Beloved husband of Helen. Devoted father of Roddy, Declan, Holly and Shannon. Dearest father-in-law of Elizabeth, Kyra, Brendan and Shane. Loving granda of Ryan, Rory, Alfie, Declan, Bradán and Rían. A much loved brother of Kay, Kevin, Pearse and Pat. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of his wider family circle, friends and neighbours. Declan's remains will be reposing at his late family home, 13 Lindenwood Park, Foyle Springs. Funeral leaving from there on Thursday, 2nd February at 11.20am for 12.00pm Requiem Mass in Holy Familly Church, Ballymagroarty. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in the City Cemetery. The death has taken place of Marietta McGrellis (née Ferguson), 30th January 2023, (peacefully) at Altnagelvin Hospital, beloved wife of the late Brendan, 26 Gortnessy Road and dear sister of the late Rosena. House private please. Family and friends are welcome to pay their respects at W J O’Brien & Son’s Funeral Home, 110 Clooney Road, Eglinton, on Wednesday from 7.00pm - 9.00pm. Her remains will be removed from there to St Mary’s Church, Tamnaherin on Thursday at 7.00pm for Requiem Mass on Friday at 10.00am. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
