Derry is put on alert for thunder storms and heavy rain tonight

Derry is on 'yellow alert' for thunder and heavy rain.

Forecasters are predicting scattered heavy showers possibly causing 'localised flooding' with a 'chance of thunder' and a maximum temperature of 14ºC.

Heavy showers are to continue this evening and becoming more isolated overnight, minimum expected temperature, 4ºC.

Further heavy and localised showers are forecast for tomorrow and throughout the weekend with some bright and dry spells with light winds.
