Derry man charged with a series of offences

Sean Tracy (36) of Brickfield Court in Derry was charged with driving while intoxicated, disorderly behaviour, assaulting police, possession of pregabalin, criminal and assaulting his former partner
A man has appeared at Derry Magistrates Court charged with a series of offences.
Sean Tracy (36) of Brickfield Court in Derry was charged with driving while intoxicated, disorderly behaviour, assaulting police, possession of pregabalin, criminal and assaulting his former partner.
All of the offences were said to have occurred between June 8 and 25 this year.
The court was told that on June 8, Tracy was meant to drop his son off with his former partner.
Upon arriving at the address, Tracy was called to have attacked the door of the house, damaging it to the extent that it no longer locks.
When stopped by police, Tracy was said to punched and kicked officers before giving no comment answers when interviewed.
Following this, Tracy was arrested after breaching his bail on June 15 but was released on condition that he not consume alcohol or drugs.
On June 25, police observed a car parked in Whitehouse in Derry with Tracy driving.
Upon arrival, police could smell alcohol on his breath and Tracy allegedly attempted to reset his phone. Police suspected this was to destroy evidence.
Tracy was then said to have tried to climb out the passenger window of the car and resisted police as they tried to arrest him, spitting on officers.
While in police custody, police found what they suspected to be pregabalin and he gave a breath sample of 52, again giving no comment answers when interviewed.
Police objected to bail as Tracy has previous relevant convictions and they say he is very likely to reoffend.
Defence solicitor Seamus Quigley told the court that the most recent offences didn't involve any new allegations of domestic violence and said that police hadn't given him a final warning after his last arrest.
Bail was refused and he will appear again on July 18
