Derry man charged with assaulting and harassing his mother granted bail

21-year-old banned from contacting his mother or entering the Balliniska Heights area of the city
A man has appeared at Derry Magistrate's Court today charged with offences against his mother.
Frankie Lynn (21) of Rockmills in Derry appeared charged with assaulting his mother on July 28 and a further charged of harassment against her on July 27.
A police officer connected the accused to the charges and opposed bail.
The court heard that the defendant was arrested after an altercation with his mother.
Bail was opposed due to the defendant's record and the risk of re-offending.
Defence solicitor Paddy MacDermott said that this was a mother son incident and added that Lynn could be released on bail with conditions.
Bail was granted on condition that Lynn has no contact with his mother and doesn't go within half a mile of Balliniska Heights.
He will appear again on August 27.
