Derry man who left bag of drugs behind in tanning salon jailed
Adam Toner (37) of Great James Street in Derry admitted a series of charges that occurred on July 26
Derry Magistrate's Court heard today how after a man had used a tanning salon a bag of tablets was found.
Adam Toner (37) of Great James Street in Derry admitted a series of charges that occurred on July 26.
The court heard that the owner of the tanning salon came to the police and told them that after Toner had used the salon she had found a bag of white tablets.
A short time later Toner had returned to the salon demanding the tablets but the owner refused.
Toner was arrested and after a strip search a package of drugs was found secreted on him.
He told police he had other packages hidden on him and so was taken to Altnagelvin Hospital.
While there Toner became 'agitated' and tried to get at the other drugs.
He grabbed a police officer and spat on another's trousers.
The drugs found were identified as class A, B and C.
A defence barrister said that Toner had been given a chance by the court in September.
Toner was sentenced to four months in custody.
