Drugs paraphernalia seized in Derry after suspect flees after e-bike pursuit

Three other young adults reported to the PPS while older occupant faces criminal charge
Police in Derry have arrested a man and reported three others to the Public Prosecution Service (PPS) in relation to drugs-related offences.
Inspector Pearce said: “Officers from our District Support Team (DST) were on mobile patrol in the Lyndhurst Road area on Sunday evening, August 9, when they saw an e-bike driving dangerously. It failed to stop when signalled to do so and instead, sped off towards the Crescent Link area.
“The officers subsequently made enquiries at the address, where they discovered a number of males in the property, along with various drugs-related paraphernalia.
“A 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class B controlled drug and for allowing his premises to be used for smoking cannabis.
“He remains in police custody at this time.
“Three adults, aged 20, 22 and 19 years old, were also subsequently interviewed and reported to the PPS, with a 17-year-old also referred to the Youth Diversionary Officer.
“This operation, which was conducted by Derry City & Strabane DST officers and supported by our Local Policing Team officers from Strand Road Police Station, demonstrates our commitment to tackling the harm caused by illegal drug use and supply in our communities.
“Our enquiries are ongoing and I would encourage anyone with information about the supply or use of illegal drugs to contact police on the 101 number.
“You can also report to police online, via www.psni.police.uk/report or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at http://crimestoppers-uk.org/.”
