Eglinton bomb: fifth man arrested

A 57-year-old man has been arrested by police investigating the discovery of a bomb under the car of a PSNI couple in Eglinton in the early hours of Thursday morning last.

The man was detained in Lurgan area this morning by detectives from the PSNI Serious Crime Branch.

He has been taken to the Serious Crime Suite at Antrim Police Station where he is assisting police with their enquiries.

He is the fifth person arrested in connection with the bomb find.

Three men arrested by Gardai near Ballybofey in Co Donegal and a 27-year-old arrested in Eglinton were released without charge.
