Planning approval secured for modular classroom in Newtowncunningham

Donegal County Council has granted retention planning permission for a modular classroom unit and associated works at a preschool on Main Street, Newtowncunningham.

The application was submitted by Newtowncunningham Community Playgroup Limited and sought permission to retain the modular classroom unit and all associated works at the site.

The planning authority granted permission subject to three conditions, including requirements relating to the external appearance of the unit and the management of surface water.

Under the conditions, all external finishes must match the existing building in terms of colour, texture and materials, unless otherwise agreed in writing with the Planning Authority.

The council also stipulated that surface water from the site must not be allowed to discharge onto the public road. Newtowncunningham Community Playgroup is also required to take measures to ensure that water from the public road does not flow onto the site.

The permission allows the retention of the modular classroom unit at the preschool and early years educational service, subject to compliance with the conditions attached to the council’s decision.
