Eglinton bomb: Man arrested in Lurgan released

A 57 year old man who was arrested by detectives from PSNI's Serious Crime Branch investigating the discovery of a bomb under the car of a PSNI couple in Eglinton last week has been released without charge.

A police spokesperson said the man, who had been detained in Lurgan yesterday morning, was released this evening "unconditionally."

He was the fifth person to be arrested in connection with the find.

Previously, three men arrested by Gardai near Ballybofey in Donegal and a 27 year old man detained by the PSNI in the Co Derry village were also released without charge.
