Foreman takes extra security step after complaints about local children playing on building site
Extra security steps have been taken to prevent children from using a local building site as a playground.
Young children were discovered playing on the building site at Ard Grange above Grangemore, according to a local councillor.
Cllr Shauna Cusack said that residents were extremely concerned about the issue.
"The Ard Grange resident was extremely concerned as she witnessed very young children playing on scaffolding and putting themselves at risk on the site and was extremely concerned that there could be a serious accident," she said.
"This neighbourhood is full of young families and as children are naturally curious they are attracted to building sites as they represent fun and adventure, however they are anything but."
Cusack said that extra steps have now been taken to prevent access to the site after she spoke to the foreman, and that she would urge parents to caution their children on the danger of building sites.
