Former Derry City midfielder Paul Hegarty is back at the Brandywell club as assistant manager to Peter Hutton.
It is the Donegal man’s second spell as second in charge at the Candy Stripes having acted as assistant to Declan Devine in 2005-2006.
His appointment follows the departure of first team coach Martin McCann.
The 48-year-old has been manager at Institute (2002-2204) and Finn Harps (2006-2009).
As a player, “Higgsy” made over 200 appearances for Derry, scoring three goals.
