Jobs boost for County Derry as 'Ireland's highest pub' is set to re-open

'Ireland’s highest pub', located in County Derry, is set to re-open, creating a number of new jobs.

The Ponderosa, on the Glenshane Pass, was sold at the end of the last year.

It is currently undergoing a number of renovation works and is expected to open later this year.

It is understood the new owners of The Ponderosa are set to launch a recruitment drive in the coming days to find staff for the business.

As well as operating as a bar and restaurant, it is believed there will also be a shop on the premises.

The Ponderosa has been seen in various movies in the past and has been mentioned in many books, including ‘Harry’s Game’.
