Katie Bowers (36) of Herron Way in Derry was charged with breaching her bail conditions after failing to obey a curfew the same day she had been released by the High Court

A woman has appeared at Derry Magistrates Court charged with breaching her bail conditions after failing to obey a curfew the same day she had been released by the High Court.

Katie Bowers (36) of Herron Way in Derry was on bail for assaulting police and assault causing actual bodily harm.

She had been released on bail on May 30 with conditions including a curfew. On Thursday night, Bowers failed to obey her curfew.

Defence solicitor Roma McGeady said that Bowers was unable to comply with the curfew on the night in question as she was talking to social services regarding her children.

A police officer told the court that when police called to the defendant on May 31 they were unable to contact her.

District Judge Barney McElhom revoked bail and Bowers will appear again on June 7.
