The 14-year-old girl appeared at Derry Magistrates' Court charged with criminal damage to a door

A judge at Derry Magistrates' Court today told a 14-year-old girl that 'she was running out of road' after she appeared charged with criminal damage to a door.

The girl had appeared in court earlier this week for new charges.

A police officer told the court that the girl had gone to an address where her younger sister was in foster care and demanded to see her. When this was refused the girl kicked at the door causing damage.

A police officer objected to bail.

Defence counsel Grainne McAnaney said her client knew she should not have gone to the address and would not be back. She said the girl had not seen her sister in a long period.

District Judge Ted Magill said this was 'seriously not good'.

He said he had released the girl simply because of her age but she was running out of road.

He re-released her on bail but added: "I really don't want to see her again."
