Lower deck of Derry bridge reopened after stuck lorry released

A lorry (pictured above) which got stuck on the lower deck of Craigavon Bridge this afternoon has been released.

Motorists had been advised by police to avoid the area after both entries to the bridge were closed during an operation to free it.

The closure caused lengthy tailbacks on roads leading to the bridge’s upper deck.

Traffic flow in the area has returned to normal.
