Eamonn Graham admitted a charge of failing to notify police of details under the Sexual Offences order, two assaults and a theft

A man has been jailed at Derry Magistrate's Court today for a series of offences.

Eamonn Graham (32) of no fixed abode admitted a charge of failing to notify police of details under the Sexual Offences order, two assaults and a theft.

The court heard that on November 10 last year police received a report of 'shouts and screams from a distressed female.'

A member of staff entered the room where the noises were coming from and saw Graham standing over a female and from his stance believed he was about to strike her.

The woman was said to have a black eye and bruises.

Graham was asked to leave the premises and called the man 'a tout' and when outside the building he assaulted the man claiming he had got him thrown out of the accommodation.

The court then heard that as a sex offender Graham was supposed to notify police of any change of address but failed to do so after losing his accommodation.

The court was also given details of a theft that Graham admitted from Tescos on October 6 when he placed £48 of alcohol in a bag and left without paying.

Defence counsel Michael Donaghey said that Graham was 'no stranger to the court.'

He said he had 'an appalling record' but had pleaded guilty at the first opportunity.

Graham was jailed for seven months.
