Man appears at Derry Magistrates' Court following a breach of bail conditions

A man has appeared at Derry Magistrates' Court following a breach of bail.

William Courtney (39) of Northland Avenue in Derry was on bail for charges of assaulting his partner. 

As part of his bail conditions he was prohibited from having any contact with the injured party and had previously breached the curfew that had been put in place.

Police told the court that they attended Courtney's address on April 14 and found the injured party there, breaching his conditions again.

He was given a 'clear warning' and released under strict conditions that the pair have no contact.

He will appear again on April 25.
