A man has appeared at Derry Magistrates Court charged with a number of drink driving offences.
Sean Cruickshank (54) of Corrody Road in Derry was initially charged following a car accident on October 7 when the fire department called police following a car accident where the car had caught fire.
When police arrived, Cruickshank was being assessed in an ambulance and gave a breath reading of 153.
He later was said to have refused to provide a specimen for police and was subsequently charged.
The second incident occurred on October 26 while police were on routine patrol. The court heard that police observed a car travelling at speed. Upon speaking to the driver, police saw two children in the car, one of which was holding two bottles
The driver appeared to be intoxicated and an evidential reading was 90.
Police objected to bail as they believe he is at clear risk of reoffending.
Defense Barrister Fergal McCormick said that Cruickshank 'clearly has issues' with alcohol when applying for bail.
District Judge Barney McElhom called Cruickshank 'a disgrace', giving him 'one chance' and granting bail under conditions that include not to consume alcohol and not to be in any private motor vehicle.
He added that any breach would see him remanded in custody.
He will appear again on November 14.
