Man arrested after car crashed into house

Police have arrested a man in connection with a crash in Derry this afternoon.

Two cars crashed into the side of a house at Creggan Hill shortly after 3.30pm.

It is understood that no one was badly injured as a result of the crash, although the woman driver of one of the cars was taken to Altnagelvin Hospital for treatment for her injuries.

A man has since been arrested in connection with the crash.

The family living in the house had a lucky escape.

Mark Farren told derrynow.com that his two year-old son Darryl was sitting on an inside window sill of their house when he saw the cars coming towards the property.

Mr Farren said he managed to grab his son and run to safety.

Police sealed off Creggan Hill for a period after the crash.
