Carr was also charged with possessing a class C drug on the same date.
It was accepted there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions.
Carr said he did not want to call any witnesses or make any statement at this stage.
He was returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on March 7 and released on bail.
A defence barrister Sean Doherty said the case involved what was known as the Good Samaritan hijacking when someone who went to assist others allegedly had his vehicle hijacked on March 11, 2020.
