Niall Martin (38) of no fixed abode was charged after police were called to his partner's house to remove him from the property
A man has been jailed at Derry Magistrates Court for assaulting police and making threats to kill.
Niall Martin (38) of no fixed abode was charged after police were called to his partner's house to remove him from the property.
When police arrived Martin began acting aggressively and shouted abuse at police, causing them to have to restrain him.
As he was brought past the injured party, he shouted that he was 'going to come back and murder' her.
Defence Barrister Stephen Chapman said that Martin accepted that he behaved badly when police arrived, adding that the assault on police was a technical one and that the threat to his partner was made in anger.
He was sentenced to four months in custody.
