McCartney welcomes end of water meter installation in domestic properties
A move to stop the installation of water meters in domestic properties has been welcomed by Foyle Sinn Fein MLA Raymond McCartney.
Earlier this year, Mr McCartney’s party colleague and Infrastructure Minister Chris Hazzard asked NI Water to end the installation of water meters in domestic properties.
Mr McCartney said: "I welcome the minister's announcement to the Assembly that the installation of water meters has now ended.
"Sinn Féin is opposed to the introduction of water charges North and South.”
Mr McCartney concluded: "This move reinforces Sinn Féin and the Executive's commitment not to bring in water charges for households."
