MTV fans who missed out on tickets can still get a piece of the action

Derry fans who missed out on grabbing a ticket to the MTV concerts in September will still have a chance to taste some of the action.

Although the tickets sold out in a record-breaking 40 seconds, there will be other opportunities for Derry locals to take in the festivities.

While there were lots of disappointed fans without tickets, it has been confirmed that there will be a wide range of alternative events taking place across the city including CultureTech and Culture Night, to ensure everyone gets a chance to enjoy something in the city.

Mayor Brenda Stevenson encouraged young people interested in finding out more about the MTV brand, and how to get involved in the music business, to sign up to the MTV workshop taking place next week.

MTV executives Virginia Monaghan, the Vice President of Music Commissioning and Content and Beth Garrod, Director of International Social Responsibility, will travel to Derry on 28 August to take part in a free one-day MTV workshop taking place at Derry’s Nerve Centre.

The Workshop is open to young people between the ages of 16 and 25 and will be a fantastic opportunity for local people to get an insight into the workings of MTV and get advice and guidance from those at the top of their game in the music industry.

Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. Some spaces are still free and pre-registration is essential by emailing [email protected].
