New taxi ranks approved for Derry city centre

Three new taxi ranks - one a full-time facility - have been approved by Council for Derry's city centre.
The approval for the facilities was granted at this afternoon's meeting of Derry City and Strabane District Council's Environment and Regeneration Committee at the Guildhall.
The proposal for the ranks came from the Department for Infrastructure (DfI). It proposed introducing a full time rank on Waterloo Place and two part-time ranks, between the hours of 10pm and 7am.
The PSNI were consulted and were in agreement with the proposal.
