Roll-out of additional 20mph zones at schools welcomed by Foyle MLA

'The extension of part-time 20mph zones to even more schools is a positive step that will help keep children safe as they arrive and leave school - Pádraig Delargy MLA
The roll-out of part-time 20mph zones at a further 40 schools in the North by Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins has been welcomed by Foyle MLA Pádraig Delargy (Sinn Féin).
This marks the third phase of the project, with 216 schools having already benefiting.
Mr Delargy said: "Making our roads safer, particularly for young people, is a top priority for Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins.
“The extension of part-time 20mph zones to even more schools is a positive step that will help keep children safe as they arrive and leave school. It is also encouraging that the minister is looking at permanent 20mph limits, especially near schools in residential areas.
"This builds on work already underway by Minister Kimmins to improve road safety at schools and her intention to bring forward legislation which will prohibit overtaking school buses at bus stops.
“Sinn Féin will continue working to make our roads safer for children, pedestrians and all road users.”
