Tributes have been paid to a pensioner who lost his life in a road traffic accident outside Moneymore today. The 65 year-old, who has been named locally as Victor Wylie from Cookstown, was the driver of a tractor that was involved in a collision with a Honda 4x4 on the dual carriageway between Cookstown and Moneymore at around 9.30am this morning. The male driver of the Honda was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries that are not believed to be life threatening. DUP Mid Ulster MLA, Ian McCrea has expressed his sympathy to the family of Mr Wylie, who was a member of Mid Ulster Vintage Vehicle Club. Speaking tonight, Mr McCrea said:"Having known the family circle for many years, I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear the news of the tragic death of Victor in a Road Traffic Collision on the Cookstown to Moneymore Dual Carriageway. "I want to assure the entire family circle of my thoughts and prayers at this time and I have no doubt that the entire community will come together to support them over the days and weeks ahead."
