Trust delight with Ministerial decision on location of new Inpatient Mental Health Unit

The Western Health and Social Care Trust is delighted with the decision by Health Minister Simon Hamilton to locate the North’s second Inpatient Mental Health United in Omagh.

Welcoming the announcement, Gerry Guckian, chairperson of the Trust, said the new facility at the Tyrone County Hospital would ensure improved mental health services were available for residents from across Northern Ireland and, in particular, those living in the Western Trust area.

“The Trust is working alongside the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety to finalise the business case so that the project can progress as soon as possible.”
