Two men returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on malicious wounding charges

Sam Edward McGinley (39) of Drumard Park in Derry and Owen Robert Orr (31) of Shackleton Drive in Ballykelly appeared at a preliminary enquiry at Derry Magistrate's Court today
Two men have been returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on charges of malicious wounding.
Sam Edward McGinley (39) of Drumard Park in Derry and Owen Robert Orr (31) of Shackleton Drive in Ballykelly appeared at a preliminary enquiry at Derry Magistrate's Court today.
They were both charged with maliciously wounding a man on October 22, 2021.
They were further charged with criminal damage to a car on the same date.
It was accepted there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions.
Neither man wanted to call any witnesses or make any statement at this stage.
Both were returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on April 24 with McGinley on bail and Orr in custody.
