Union says Derry branch of Fujitsu set to avoid major job losses

Unite The Union have said that the Derry branch of Fujitsu looks set to have avoided major job losses.

Last year the company said its NI workforce could be affected by up to 1,800 job losses across the UK

The firm employs around 250 people in Derry.

Unite has said total job losses across Northern Ireland are likely to be in the region of 11 to 20.

The firm employs over 400 people in Belfast.

The union said that Fujitsu management have said that staff based in Derry are no longer being considered as part of the redundancies currently under review.
