Warning of traffic delays in Kilrea due to road closure
Motorists are being advised to expect delays in Kilrea in Co Derry due to a road closure to facilitate road improvements in the area.
Regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy (pictured above) has announced that a £90,000 scheme at Agivey Road, Kilrea from the junction of Mullan Road to the junction at Movanagher Road South is underway.
Work on the scheme is expected to be substantially completed by Monday 26 January.
To help ensure the safety of road users and contractors it will be necessary to operate road closures during tomorrow and Monday next.
Mr Kennedy said well signposted diversions would be in place via Ballymoney and Garvagh.
Access for residents would be maintained.
He said drivers should expect delays advising to allow additional time when travelling in the area.
Mr Kennedy concluded: "As with all improvements of this type the scheduled is subject to favourable weather conditions."
