Wonder Wagon pulls into Derry

A travelling wagon which has visited festival throughout Europe has now set up home permanently in Derry.

The Wonder Wagon will travel around the city as a base for a wide range of activities.

It will also be available to hire for events.

The wagon has been purchased with money from the Legacy Fund which supports initiatives which aim to follow on from the success of Derry’s year as City of Culture in 2013.

It will be managed by the Gasyard Development Trust.

Among the events it will host will be comic book workshops, story-telling, puppet theatre, crafts and other art adventures and can be hired for various events including weddings and private parties.

The design was inspired by the old fashioned travelling caravans and before its arrival in the city it spent time travelling some of Europe’s top music gatherings including the famous Glastonbury Festival.
