Plans lodged for 23 homes in Culdaff, including houses, apartments and bungalows.

Planning permission is being sought by South Derry Reproduction ROI Limited to construct 17 new houses and six new apartments in Culdaff village.

The application by Martin O'Donnell on behalf of the Greencastle company seeks to construct 23 residential units near Stoneywood Estate and Culdaff Garda station on the Moville Road.

The development will consist of three ground-floor two-bedroom apartments, three first-floor two-bedroom apartments, 13 two-storey three-bedroom houses and four two-bedroom bungalows.

Foylegrange Developments was granted permission for 19 houses on the site in 2007. In 2012, they were given an extension of duration on the application until 2017.

The development was not constructed, and South Derry Reproduction ROI Limited is now seeking planning permission for the development as well as the provision of a sewage treatment plant, connection to the existing Uisce Éireann treatment plant on the .92 hectare (2.27 acre) plot and all associated site works.

An ‘agreement in principle’ has also been reached which will see Donegal County Council purchasing five of the units.

A decision by the planning authority is expected by December 14 on the new housing development.
