A Status Yellow Wind warning issued for Donegal from this evening

Met Éireann has warned that the winds will be particularly strong in coastal areas, with the alert coming into effect at 6pm on Tuesday and remaining in place until 5am on Wednesday
A Status Yellow Wind warning has been issued for Donegal as strong and gusty south-westerly winds are expected to affect the county from Tuesday evening into the early hours of Wednesday.
Met Éireann has warned that the winds will be particularly strong in coastal areas, with the alert coming into effect at 6pm on Tuesday and remaining in place until 5am on Wednesday. The warning also covers neighbouring counties Galway and Mayo.
Forecasters say the blustery conditions could lead to difficult travelling conditions, while debris and loose objects may be displaced by the strong gusts. There is also the possibility of fallen branches or trees in exposed areas.
Motorists are being urged to take extra care on the roads, particularly on exposed coastal routes, while homeowners are advised to secure any loose outdoor items ahead of the arrival of the strong winds. Met Éireann continues to monitor the situation and further updates may be issued if conditions change.
