The new Community Garden at the Leabgarrow Foreshore, Árainn Mhór, will be officially opened later this month.
Pat the Cope Gallagher TD will perform the official duties on Friday, May 23, and the Committee of Management of Comharchumann Oileán Árainn Mhór Teo has extended an open invitation.
Anyone interested in attending is asked to officially confirm their attendance by Friday, May 18, by email to [email protected]. Refreshments will be served and music by Green Island.
The site was gifted to the community by a fellow islander to be developed as a ‘robust amenity and lasting attraction,” according to the Donegal County Council website. A brief story of the island is to be told using 12 information boards along a pathway. There will also be several seated areas.
