Cllr Michael McMahon asks for council workshop regarding Drumacrin development

Councillor Michael McMahon has called on Donegal County Council to help provide Bundoran residents with answers relating to an in-construction housing development in Drumacrin.

Speaking at October’s Donegal Municipal District Meeting in Donegal Town, the Sinn Féin councillor was referring to a 42-unit development in Drumacrin, Bundoran, of which he welcomed the development.

Cllr McMahon questioned Donegal County Council executive staff on the road planning for the development.

He said: “The residents are really uptight, not because of the fact that the houses are being built, but we don’t see any progress in sight of the road service or where the road is going to go.

“The houses are coming on, and by this time next year, I am hoping that they are finished, but we have the whole problem of traffic congestion.

“We need positive answers for a meeting to see exactly where the road is, and where we are going with the project of the road.

“The residents were expecting some results, and I don’t really have anything to tell them. What I am asking for is a workshop meeting.

“There is a lot of development, and that is to be welcomed.”

In response, the Area Manager for Housing & Corporate Services, Pauric Sheerin, commented: “There are a number of issues that need to be dealt with. It is probable that we arrange a further capital workshop relating to this scheme.2
