Month-long exhibition at Fort Dunree brings together contemporary works spanning painting, sculpture, film and digital media

More than 55 artists from across the North West and beyond will showcase their work as part of Artlink's annual Members Show, which returns to Fort Dunree throughout August.

This year's exhibition, titled And Again, has been curated by Róisín Doherty, Co-Director of Galway's 126 Artist-Run Gallery & Studios, in partnership with Artlink. The exhibition brings together a diverse collection of contemporary artwork across a range of disciplines, including painting, sculpture, installation, film, sound, digital media and mixed-media practice.

The exhibition explores themes including memory, belonging, ritual, landscape and collective care, with participating artists offering personal reflections on identity, heritage and the places that shape their lives.

Speaking ahead of the exhibition, curator Róisín Doherty said the show reflects the generosity and diversity of its contributors.

"What makes And Again so special is the generosity of the artists in sharing their perspectives and experiences. Every work brings its own story, yet together they create a conversation about connection, memory and the landscapes that continue to influence who we are.”

"It's been a real privilege to curate such a rich and diverse exhibition, and I hope visitors leave feeling inspired, moved and perhaps reminded of their own relationship with place and community."

The annual Members Show has become one of the highlights of Artlink's exhibition programme, celebrating the work of its members while providing a platform for artists working across a wide variety of creative disciplines.

Artlink Exhibition Organiser Alison Hancock said the exhibition continues to attract both regular gallery visitors and newcomers each year.

"Our Members Show is always one of the highlights of the year because it brings together such an incredible range of creativity under one roof.”

"Whether you're a regular gallery visitor or discovering Artlink for the first time, we'd love to welcome you to Fort Dunree this August. It's a wonderful opportunity to meet the work of local and national artists, enjoy the stunning setting and experience an exhibition that really celebrates creativity, community and connection."

Set against the backdrop of Fort Dunree overlooking Lough Swilly, the exhibition offers visitors the chance to experience contemporary art in one of Donegal's most distinctive cultural venues.

And Again will run daily from August 1 to August 30, opening from 10.30am to 4pm, with the official launch taking place at 6.30pm this Friday, July 31.

Admission to the exhibition is free, and all are welcome. For further information, email Artlink at [email protected], visit www.artlink.ie, or contact a member of the Artlink team on 0838696513.
