Delays expected with Letterkenny traffic lights not working till next week

Donegal County Council have said: ‘Traffic lights at Port Road, High Road, Main Street and Justice Walsh junction are not working’
Letterkenny is set for some weekend traffic delays, with the news that traffic lights in the town are out of order.
Donegal County Council have said: “Traffic lights at Port Road, High Road, Main Street and Justice Walsh junction are not working and may be out until Monday or Tuesday next week. Avoid this area as there are likely to be long delays on all junctions here.”
Motorists were previously advised to expect localised delays and rolling road closures this Sunday, August 30, as hundreds of runners take to the streets for the annual Donegal Half Marathon.
The event commences at 9am and will leave from the Ballymacool area. The route will bring participants in and around Letterkenny Town.
“Please be mindful that the event is due to take place and plan your journey accordingly, as some traffic delays are likely to occur,” An Garda Siochana said this week. “There will not be any official road closures in place that morning for the duration of the event but Gardaí and road marshals will be on hand to direct traffic. Please follow all directions given by them.”
