The North Western Region was allocated 31 Gardaí following attestations at the Garda College in Templemore

The Donegal Division has been allocated three of the 206 newly attested Gardaí nationally.

Two gardaí will be assigned to Letterkenny, while one will be allocated to Buncrana to take on operational responsibilities.

The announcement of the 206 newly attested gardaí was made by Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration, Jim O’Callaghan TD.

“I am especially pleased to see additional Garda resources allocated to Donegal,” Fianna Fáil TD Pat ‘The Cope’ Gallagher said. “The deployment of new probationer Gardaí to Buncrana and Letterkenny will support frontline policing and enhance community safety across the county.

“The continued flow of graduates from Templemore is vital. Communities in Donegal and throughout Ireland rely on a well‑resourced Garda service, and today’s attestation is another important step in building that capacity.”

Following attestation at the Garda College in Templemore, the North Western Region will receive 31, the Southern Region will be allocated 25, the Eastern Region will receive 56 and the Dublin Region will be allocated 94 Gardaí.
