Donegal Democrat marks its 100th year of publication

Thursday is kown as "Democrat day" and this week our bumper Thursday edition marks the paper's 100th birthday.

In a 48 page special we tell the story of how the paper was started, we speak to  our loyal readers about the paper and they have told us why they have remained loyal to us over the years and we carry good luck messages from some very well known readers.

We have special features capturing the events and people who made the headlines over the last 100 years and we take many trips down our very own memory lane to remind readers of the highs and lows in news and sport over the past century.

President Michael D Higgins sends us a very special message while advocate, entrepreneur and public speaker Deirdre McGlone steps in as guest editor this week to highlight issues close to her heart.
