The driver of a black Seat Leon with the partial registration of ‘YLZ’ has been sought following two hit-and-run incidents and dangerous driving

Gardaí are seeking the driver of a black Seat Leon following multiple collisions in Donegal.

The incidents involving a vehicle with a partial registration of ‘YLZ’ occurred on Friday, September 4.

At 7:22pm, a driver was waiting at a set of temporary traffic lights on the N15 near Castlefin. The light turned green and they proceeded, only to be met head-on by the Seat Leon.

The Seat Leon was travelling in the opposite direction via Killygordon and Castlefin, and the cars collided. The Seat Leon left the scene immediately, and no injuries were reported.

At 7:34pm, a driver reported that the Seat Leon in question had overtaken their car in a dangerous manner in Liscooley and had collided with the front driver’s side of their car while doing so.

The direction of travel for both cars was Killygordon to Liscooley. The Seat Leon left the scene of the collision immediately and turned off in Liscooley to travel in the direction of Carnowen. No injuries were reported.

Gardaí later received a report regarding the dangerous manner in which the same vehicle was being driven around the Derry Road, Raphoe, around 9:35pm.

“We appeal to anybody who may have witnessed any of these incidents to get in touch with Gardaí in Ballyshannon on 071-9858530,” a Garda spokesperson said. “If anyone travelled between Killygordon and Liscooley or in the Carnowen area with a dash-cam between 7pm and 8pm on that date, we ask them to make the footage available to us.”
