The County Councillor and Senator passed away last Thursday at age 76.
Tributes were paid to the late Enda Bonner in this morning’s East Donegal MD meeting.
The County Councillor and Senator passed away last Thursday at age 76.
Cllr Patrick McGowan, Cathaoirleach of the Lifford-Stranorlar Municipal District (MD), paid respects at the meeting this:
“This is a very sad occasion for everyone,” Cllr McGowan said. “He was somebody who was very passionate, and he had put the council before his own business many, many times. Enda got a great send-off yesterday.”
Enda was laid to rest yesterday following a Requiem Mass at St Crona’s Church.
Cllr Gary Doherty, who attended the funeral Mass yesterday, said, “It's been a very sad time locally… I did spend a term on the council with Enda.
“He certainly represented this council and county of great esteem over many years.”
Cllr Martin Harley, who attended Enda’s funeral yesterday, said, “he was a great public representative for the Glenties area.”
