From Springwatch to Rossnowlagh - meet Irish birdsong gatherer Seán Ronayne

Seán has been travelling all over Ireland in an effort to catch the songs of the 200 birds that are found here, and he will visit Rossnowlagh Farmers Market this week
Visitors to Rossnowlagh Farmers Market this week are in for a special treat, with a visit from Seán Ronayne who recently featured on BBC's Springwatch.
A spokesperson for Rossnowlagh Farmers Market said: "Seán Ronayne is a bird lover from Cobh, but he’s been travelling all over Ireland, including Donegal, to catch the songs of almost every bird you’ll find here - nearly 200 altogether!
"In this lively and heartwarming talk, Seán will tell you the stories of these birds and play their songs for you. He’ll share how his keen ears help him hear every little chirp, even when it’s hard sometimes.
"You’ll laugh, you might get a wee tear in your eye, and you’ll see how listening closely to birds can help us care for our countryside and make us feel good inside.
"So come on June 20, bring your ears and your smiles, and let’s hear the birds of Ireland like never before!"
The market takes place in the main (Council) car park at Rossnowlagh every Friday from 10am to 1pm. There is an array of fresh produce, home bakes, crafts, plants, and more, as well as a wonderful community atmosphere and lots to entertain people of all ages. Follow Rossnowlagh Farmers Market on Facebook for updates.
